I had a lot of fun working on the first Michael Jackson tribute that I did on Friday. I figured why not make another. So here is my second in a the Michael Jackson tribute series
He has such a great silhouette? All the best characters have great silhouettes.

Everyone Likes To Draw

If you've been reading my blog for 6 months or more you may remember the calender drawings I would post monthly.
Well this is no calender, but a dry erase board. I went to a housewarming party in Harlem. It just happened they had a dry erase board. Some random party goer and myself started drawing on the board. Before to long the entire party had drawn something. As you may remember for the calender posts I'm a sucker for these things. Luckily phones have cameras. So here's the collective artwork of 20 drunk kids in Harlem.

I love Michael Jackson, always have. I put this together as a tribute to the greatest artist of our time. I'm gonna miss that guy.

Ho-Made is on the web

I finally have a website actually uploaded to the internet. It's www.ho-maderecords.com. It's not quite finished but it's there. In time it will be a grand site. So check it out and tell me about it.

Ho-Made Records

So I recently got into building websites. My first successful site www.notboodpaint.com went online a few weeks back. It's not as grand as I would prefer because I didn't design it (George Frye designed it, I made it work.) Now that I know how websites are built I've started creating my own. Ho-Made Records is a recording/media company I started with Jake Perry in 2003. We've never had a website so I'm making it. It's basically an outlet for all our bands plus my art/photography/animation/films. Here are some pictures of the in progress website. It's supposed to look as it it was all created in a notebook.

An Old Saying

"Red sky at night sailors delight, red sky in morning sailor take warning."

It's weather thing. Basically it's gonna rain if you see red sky in the morning. That's when I took this photograph. About 5 am this morning I shot this out of my bedroom window. Sure enough it's raining which is why I'm inside blogging instead of outside riding my bicycle. Actually I don't think I've ever actually seen morning red sky before, usually I'm not up that early. Anyhow, I just liked all the colors and contrast.

Free Models, Yeah

So as you may have read I work a post production house in Manhattan. Part of my job is going to shoots and helping Johnny (my boss/the director.) While I'm at these shoot I get to shoot still photography with the companies Nikon D90. What I try to do with these photos is show what goes into making the commercials. All the lights, green screens, c stands, cameras, etc. Yesterday I was at one of these shoots. It just so happens the talent (actors) were beautiful women in a pool. I saw this as an opportunity to shoot with a model. Here are a few of my favorites of the shoot.As you can see even when shooting beautiful women I like to incorporate the equiptment that goes into making these commercials possible.

Not Blood, Paint

I've been working on designing a web site for the band Not Blood, Paint. This website is not finished by any means but it's coming along. So come have a look at what I did and check out a really good band while your at it. Oh yeah and you can keep coming back because it's going to be changing a lot in the near future.

Johnny Semerad

So this guys my boss. Apparently the good pictures our company have of him he has long hair. A magazine has written an article about him and he needs a new shot. I got this shot while he was working on Flame, with clients in his office (notice the apple logo in the background.) He's really in his element.He absolutely refused to look at the camera. So it had to be a profile. Part of my assignment was to get it looking really nice in Photoshop. So I gave it a vignette look and really made the colors "pop". This is what I came up with.Best part about this is, it's going to be in print. So if anybody reads Shoot Magazine keep and eye out for this shot.

Update: This photo is in the June 19th issue of Shoot Magazine. It's official I have a photo printed in a magazine.

Abraham Album Art

5 False Alarms is the title of the new E.P. by Abraham. As I was in this band and still consult with the group I was was asked to work on some ideas for cover art.This is basically a sketch. It was a sketch on paper and the colors from Photoshop have been applied really loose and sketchy. Basically I just wanted to display the idea. Here's a scan of the two original sketches. One of the wolf and another of the sheep.Also just for good measure here's an alternate sketch of the wolf.
I'm sure you'll see more drawings like this in the near future.
